Mike Nelson
Senior Pastor

Pastor Mike was saved and called into the ministry in September of 1994 while attending Kirby Woods Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He was called to be our senior pastor in September of 2007. Prior to coming to Northrich, he was serving as the senior pastor of Northview Baptist Church in Irving, Texas. He also served as the senior pastor of Woods Edge Road Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Pastor Mike is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and has a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor Mike served as an officer in the United States Army for twenty years and earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Memphis while serving in the military. He and his wife, Sharon, have five children, Alicia, Michael, Caleb, Roman, and Nathan.

Pastor Mike has a shepherd’s heart and is passionately committed to feeding those under his care through the expository preaching of God’s Word. He is equally passionate about reaching our community with the life-changing message of the gospel of Christ. His vision for our church is one in which worship, evangelism, ministry, discipleship, and fellowship are practiced with equal and balanced enthusiasm and commitment for the ultimate glory of God.
