Northrich Baptist Church | NBC In Action | A Celebration Sunday

For the past year, our church has been preparing to send members of our church on a mission trip to Mtwara, Tanzania. This Sunday was a celebration of all He has done.
It's always a special Sunday when the men's quartet sings.
The sound that came out of each of these men was amazing.
Four voices...all in harmony.
What we saw and heard was the result of hours of practice. Thank you, Jesse!
Then our own Matt Starrett took the mike.
He hit notes with a finesse that amazed us all.
The Holy Spirt moved in the service and He used Matt in a mighty way.
Then Pastor Mike preached a sermon entitled "The Battle in the Garden." We were all aware that the Holy Spirit continued to move among us, and He spoke to us through Pastor Mike.
After the invitation and the offering, the choir sang a song from the upcoming Easter cantata. Part of the song is about Africa which was especially appropriate for this Sunday.
There was a sweet spirit throughout the service, but this song erupted into a shared joy that was simply astounding.
Our girls wore pillowcase dresses that were made by members of the quilt ministry and will be given to the little girls in Mtwara. (They made over 500 dresses!) And for the boys, soccer balls!
It all started a year ago when Pastor Mike went to Africa and saw thousands of lives changed by the gospel. He returned with a passion for Africa and a vision for how our church could become involved in reaching souls for Christ in Africa.
Eight members of Northrich will be joining him on a mission trip to Mtware, Tanzania. Two others had the heart to go, but their health is keeping them from going.
The first goal was to take 1,000 Swahili New Testament Bibles; the second goal, 2,000. Our little group of missionaries will be taking 2,100 Bibles!
The little girls in Africa only have one set of clothing and what they wear is close to rags. Can you imagine how they'll feel when they receive one of these pretty little dresses.
These soccer balls have the wordless Gospel printed on each one. Who knows how many times each one will be used to share the Good News.
Pastor Mike talks about the difference this simple tool will make in the lives of those who use these soccer balls.
Mike Talley, team leader for E-3 Ministries, will be leading the mission trip to Africa. Pastor Mike gave him a check for over $4,000 for Bibles.
Mike Talley was amazed by the Bibles, the pillowcase dresses, and the soccer balls, and said that our little church is doing more for missions than even many larger churches.
The morning service ended with Brother John giving thanks to God for what He has allowed us to accomplish for His purposes. The mission team stood with Mike and received special prayers for their trip and for the work ahead.
